    Host family requirements

Is your Family ready to become a Host Family? In order to ensure that both the Host Family and the Au Pair get the most benefit from the exchange, we've compiled some information as to what the requirements are and what's expected by the Au Pairs.

    • Living Arrangements: The Au Pair will need their own fully furnished bedroom and a bathroom (can be shared). They will have 3 meals per day. They will also expect to participate in daily life and activities with the family.
    • Children: Your family must include one child under the age of 13.
    • Location: Most Au Pairs would prefer to be in main cities, however we've also found matches for rural families.
    • Schedule: The Au Pair is expected to work up to 35 hours per week and no more than 10 hours per day with two days off.
    • Payment: The Au Pair will be paid between $300-$350 per week for their help (negotiated individually with each candidate).
    • Experience: While all of our carefully selected Au Pairs have vast experience with kids, you should take time to train the Au Pair in tasks specific to your home.
    • Language Exchange:A very important part of the experience for the Au Pair is improving their English skills. It is essential that the primary language spoken at home is English and the Au Pair is encouraged and included in as many conversations as possible.
    • Children: there should be at least one child under the age of 13 in your family.
    • Driving: While the vast majority of our Au Pairs have a Driver's License, it is up to the Family to test their driving competency and arrange for car insurance etc.
    • Fill Our Profile:If you decide to move forward, you will need to fill out a profile form. We are always here to help with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Do you meet all these requirements to become a host family?
